Mixed martial arts fans have been well aware of the heated rivalry between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate for years, but the rivalry took center stage on the previous season of The Ultimate Fighter.
In the past, most of the attention was on Rousey and the comments that she would make about her relationship with Tate, but Tate finally feels that she got her side of the story across and that people are beginning to understand her more after watching the latest season of TUF.
“It feels kind of nice, finally,” Tate told MMAjunkie. “For a long time, I felt very misunderstood. I felt like a lot of people really thought they could hear what Ronda was saying, but I never got any coverage. It was all the Ronda show, and it was like she was the one on the covers of everything and getting all this press. Everyone was really only hearing her side of the story.
“It was kind of nice to be able to shed some light on the truth, and people could really see how we interact and the reason why it’s impossible to get along with her or like her.”
Regardless of what people think about the rivalry between the two, it will all come down to how they show their skills in the cage.
Tate and Rousey are set for their highly anticipated rematch on Dec. 28 at UFC 168, when all of the talking will be irrelevant and the two will finally get the opportunity to put their hands on each other once again.
