Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer is used to lobbying for BCS National Championship bids. Now that it appears his second-ranked Buckeyes are just one win away from playing in the title game, Meyer doesn’t want to discuss the BCS at all.
“I’ll have a comment on Sunday,” Meyer said during his weekly news conference via Austin Ward of ESPN Monday. “We have to play a game. For someone to ask about something after this game, I mean, that’s cheating our football team.
Despite the Buckeyes’ 12-0 record, many pundits and fans have wondered if Meyer’s Buckeyes could be jumped by the third-ranked Auburn Tigers if the Tigers defeat the fifth-ranked Missouri Tigers in the SEC Championship Saturday afternoon.
“There will be no conversation about what happens after this game until after this game,” Meyer added.
The Buckeyes will head to Indianapolis Saturday night to take on the 10th-ranked Michigan State Spartans for the Big 10 Championship. The game will kickoff at 8:17 pm EST and will be televised by FOX.
