‘Ted’ Sequel Coming in 2015

Universal Pictures has announced that the follow up to the 2012 comedy hit Ted will be hitting theaters in the summer of 2015.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, our favorite foul-mouthed teddy bear is making a return to the big screen with what is tentatively known as Ted 2.

Family Guy patriarch, Seth MacFarlane is returning to the project as writer, director, and of course co-stars in the franchise put forth by Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital.

Ted was one of the highest grossing R-Rated comedies of all time.

Also returning to the project is Transformers: Age of Extinction actor Mark Wahlberg who will be reprising his role as Ted’s best friend John Bennett.

It is unknown at this point if any of the other actors/actresses, like Mila Kunis who played John’s girlfriend Lori, or Jessica Barth who played Ted’s girlfriend Tami-Lynn in the original, will be returning for the sequel.

According to Deadline, Ted writers Alec Sulkin & Wellesley Wild are returning to pen the sequel.

The original was released at almost the exact same time in 2012 and according to Box Office Mojo, grossed over $218 million in the U.S. and over $549 million worldwide after its release on June 29, 2012.

Ted 2 is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2015.
