The Massachusetts Minutemen will take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles at 7 pm ET in Ypsilanti, MI.  UMass is ranked No. 21 in the AP Top 25 Poll, and is undefeated at 6-0.  The Eagles are 5-1.

How long can UMass stay undefeated?  How high will their ranking go?  Road games will help answer these questions.

The Minutemen are led by junior center Cady Lalanne.  The big man is averaging 17.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game.  Lalanne is also shooting 64.3% from the field.  It pays to have an inside presence who can rebound and score easy buckets.  Senior point guard Chaz Williams runs the offense for UMass.  Williams averages 16.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.  If Lalanne is Batman, Williams is Robin.  Senior forward Raphiael Putney complements Lalanne in the post averaging 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Eastern Michigan is led by junior forward Karrington Ward who averages 16.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.  Freshman guard Ray Lee is another sharpshooter for the Eagles averaging 15.3 points.  Getting the ball to Ward and Lee is the job of junior guard Mike Talley who averages 6.8 points and 3.8 assists per game.  Eastern Michigan’s lone loss was against No. 3 Kentucky, and they will look to build upon that experience to play another excellent opponent in UMass.

The game is not nationally televised, but be sure to check out the box score.  Eastern Michigan has a chance if Ward and Lee shoot well.  UMass has more weapons giving them the edge, but a road game will test their ability to stay composed, and play their game.
