Detroit Lions bring back Havard ‘Kickalicious’ Rugland for workout (Video)

You all remember Havard ‘Kickalicious’ Rugland, right?
The Norwegian trick shot artist who spent training camp with the Detroit Lions and eventually worked out for the Green Bay Packers? Yeah, that guy. Well, he’s back – at least for a day or two as the Detroit Lions, tiring of David Akers brought in Rugland along with a batch of former NFL kickers for a workout on Monday.
There’s been no word on if Rugland, who learned English by listening to Wu-Tang Clan albums, or any of the other names who practiced were retained by the Lions though it’s a clear sign the team is either thinking of letting Akers go or wanting a backup in case Akers’ struggles continue.
As you’ll recall, Akers struggles eventually lead to the San Francisco 49ers releasing him, a move the Lions could be considering.
Of course, adding an unproven kicker like Rugland in the middle of a playoff run seems unlikely, but maybe we’ll see the impressive leg of Kickalicious on an NFL field in the relatively near future.
