Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News is one of the most respected in the industry when it comes to the NFL Draft and is one of the original draftniks. He made some news by saying that he spent a few weeks talking to ‘NFL-types’ and came away convinced that Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M would be a top 12 pick.
Manziel is already one of the most controversial players in the NFL Draft and he has not yet declared to be in it. There are opinions on both sides as to why and why not Johnny Football can be successful in the NFL. He has shown he can be a dynamic playmaker with his arm and his legs, but concerns over his size, style, and arm strength have given some pause.
Between that and questions teams will have with Manziel off the field, he is one of the most unpredictable prospects in the draft (should he declare for it) and projecting where he will go is virtually impossible. He is the ultimate wild card as he could go anywhere from the first round to undrafted depending on a person’s viewpoint. And with 32 teams, there will be that many opinions of Manziel and what he can do in the NFL and for each individual team.
