The 10th-ranked Michigan State Spartans and the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will meet in Indianapolis Saturday night with the Big 10 Championship on the line.
The Buckeyes enter the game with a record of 12-0 and will likely play in the BCS Championship with a victory.
However, that is no certainty. Some believe that the third-ranked Auburn Tigers, who knocked off the previously top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide if they defeated the fifth-ranked Missouri Tigers in Saturday’s SEC Championship. If Missouri should win, a case will probably made for them.
Spartans’ head coach Mark Dantonio believes with a win that would push the Buckeyes to 13-0, they should absolutely be in the title game.
In fact, Dantonio made a case for his squad as well.
“Why not us, if certain scenarios take place, which obviously last weekend you saw a lot of scenarios take place,” Dantonio asked Chantel Jennings of ESPN.com. “There are no givens in college football. Anybody can rise up to beat someone else. That ball bounces a lot of different ways.
“The fact of the matter is we’re 11-1 right now, we’re playing in a championship environment. And we’ll move from there. Don’t limit yourself. Dream big. That’s what I tell my football team.”
The Buckeyes and Spartans will kick off at 8:17 pm EST Saturday and the game is on Fox.
