Tonight, one of the final episodes of this season of Sons of Anarchy will air on FX. All of the secrets, lies, betrayals, and other kinds of sins are now coming to light. With the end in sight, things show no signs of slowing down. Let’s take a look at tonight’s all-new episode of Sons of Anarchy entitled ‘You Are My Sunshine.’
As has become the norm with the show, the title is everything. In each episode, the title usually has some sort of significant weight that is unveiled during the show. This one in particular makes me nervous.
Most of you know that this is the title to a song. While at first glance, it make seem like a pleasant one; however, if you really get down to it, it is one of sadness.
The chorus to the song reads like this:
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
Now, with everything that has been going on between Jax and Tara; the cheating, the lies, the divorce, the fake pregnancy, the fake miscarriage, and so many other wrongs that I have most seriously lost count, I can’t help but think that this has something to do with them.
I could be entirely off base, as the trailers have led us astray before, but I think Tara may actually decide that her best option is to take Abel and Thomas and run as far away from Charming as she can get.
As of late, Jax has seemed to be very forgiving of the recent transgressions of the good doctor; however, would Jax share the same sentiment if she took his boys and ran, with no hope of him seeing them in the future?
This opens up a whole new string of questions. My next questions is, does she turn he back on the club, give state’s evidence to Patterson, and enter witness protection, or does she throw everything out the window and hit the road on her own; running from both Patterson and SAMCRO?
If this is the path that she chooses, this is not going to end well for someone involved. I have my thoughts on who that person is, but we will discuss that tonight after the episode.
Putting aside all the drama between Jax, Tara, and the boys, the club still has to deal with the repercussion of their actions last episode. While I agree that the events that transpired involving the deaths of both Galen and Clay “had to happen,” there is no way that they are walking away from this matter unscathed.
The Chinese are incredibly pissed off, and rightly so, for what happened to them at the hands of the Irish, which I am sure is going to be taken out on SAMCRO. In the trailer, we see a small snippet of the confrontation between these two, and it doesn’t look very welcoming.
Also, what is going to happen when Connor gives the news of Galen and Clay’s passing to the Kings? Will they believe the story that this was old rivalries gone south, or will they know that there is more here than they are being led to believe? If the latter is true, I don’t even want to know what is next on the Irish’s list of things to do to SAMCRO. I mean, they did already obliterate their clubhouse, almost with everyone inside of it.
That brings me to the biggest issue of all, District Attorney Tyne Patterson.
Patterson is hell bent on hanging the Sons of Anarchy for the horrific school shooting, that she doesn’t care what gets in her way, even if it is the truth. While ideally, it was the club’s gun that Matthew got a hold of in order to carry out his twisted little plan, Patterson has continually ignored facts in order to achieve her goal. I mean, come on…how long did she stall after she already knew that Nero was innocent in Erin’s murder?
Every time one of her “deals” goes south, she moves right on to the next one. It will be hard to tell what her next move is going to be if Tara does decide to skip town. That could spell a whole new set of problems for Jax and the club.
Most of you who have been watching Sons for a long time know that things tend to get really bloody towards the end of the season. Being that there are only two episodes left, I am pretty certain that between now and next week, we are going to lose at least 2 more people. Are those going to be main characters, side characters, or people that we absolutely despise? Unfortunately, one cannot tell right now.
However, what we do know is that it is going to be one wild ride. So strap in and hang on, because tonight is going to be an adventure.
While we wait for tonight’s episode to start, let’s take a look at the preview.
