Georgia Bulldogs junior wide receiver Chris Conley is in the process of organizing lightsaber duels on the UGA campus, hoping to turn the battles into a fan-made movie.
Chris Conley, you are now officially the coolest player in college football. And that is not a joke. I wish we could send you a plaque.
Dog Bytes Online has the awesome story. Conley first reached out to Star Wars fans on Twitter back in mid-November to propose the duel idea. Since then he’s recruited the Georgia football videographer to help with the project, and he sent out a “calling all engineers” Tweet a few weeks ago asking for “tips on how [to] fortify the insides of my Lightsaber hilt.”
He then elaborated:
To clarify. I need to fortify the hilt from the inside. Not on the outside. Most suggestions have been for the exterior. Think interior

Conley told Dog Bytes that being a nerd is part of who he is:
My brother and I got into the games and into the some of the Star Wars history outside of the movies and I’ve just been a fan of it ever since. I’ve been a big guy who prides myself on remaining who I am regardless of who I’m around or how old I get. It’s something that I like and regardless of what people tell me, if it’s frowned upon or not. It’s me.
May the Force be with you, Conley.
