When the Nets moved from New Jersey to their new home in Brooklyn, their rivalry with the New York Knicks was supposed to develop into one of the best rivalries in the league.

Instead, the Nets are just 5-13 and look like one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NBA.

The only reason the Nets aren’t the unanimous number one in terms of team turmoil is because of the 3-13 Knicks, who have lost nine games in a row.

It’s gotten so bad that Carmelo Anthony didn’t even realize Thursday’s game between the two squads was on national television.

“It’s on TNT? I didn’t know that,” Anthony said when asked whether the Knicks and Nets might be mocked on national television Thursday. “I don’t care about that. We are the laughingstock of the league right now. It’s nothing to hide. We are.”

Anthony would love for things to quickly change.

“That’s why it is a big game for us,” Anthony explained. “Do I like being laughed at? Hell, no. I don’t like that feeling.”

The Knicks and Nets will tip-off at 7:00 pm EST Thursday.
