Ron Burgundy claims he composed the SportsCenter theme (Video)

Will Ferrell has been pretty busy promoting his new movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. He has portrayed his Ron Burgundy character everywhere.

Burgundy started with some commercials pitching Dodge Durangos. He has hosted a nightly news show in Bismarck and even lent a hand to the Canadian Olympic Curling trials broadcast.

Burgundy is set to host SportsCenter on Thursday night with his pal Champ Kind and we’ve been getting sneak peaks here and there. We’ve seen Burgundy interview Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

Now we’ve got another teaser for his SportsCenter debut. Remember, Burgundy auditioned for the show back at the network’s beginnings. Now he is claiming that he was the composer of SportsCenter’s famous “Da Da Da” theme.

“You know that “da da da, da da da” thing everybody is always singing?” Burgundy asks. “Well I composed that little ditty, and to show their appreciation for my genius I’ve been asked to host SportsCenter.”

“Well forget that, I want residuals you cheap bastards!” Burgundy exclaims.

The show airs Thursday at 6 p.m. ET, so set your DVRs accordingly.
