The NBA has a bright future. Not only is upcoming class of rookies going to be great, but the current one looks pretty good, too.
In Tuesday night’s game between the Magic and Sixers, we saw two of the best players in this class face off. These two teams aren’t very good, but the rookies put on a show. Michael Carter-Williams finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists, and Victor Oladipo finished with 26 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists. This is the first time in NBA history that two rookies finished with triple-doubles in the same game.
The Sixers got the 126-125 win in double overtime, but it was a great game by both teams. Ben McLemore is playing better, and it looks like the draft will produce some really good players this year. Hopefully, these guys keep this up for their entire careers, and then we will all win.
“It’s not me versus Oladipo,” Carter-Willams humbly added after the game, “It’s Sixers versus Orlando. It’s a team game. I just wanted to get the win.”
