Dwight Howard frustrated with Houston Rockets effort in recent losses

Currently sitting at 13-7, the Houston Rockets have gotten off to a pretty solid start this season, especially considering the amount of injuries they’ve dealt with.

Regardless, losers of two straight with some questionable effort given, frustrated big man Dwight Howard let loose on his teammates, questioning their effort:

“[Expletive] effort out there on defense and on offense,” said Howard. “The ball stuck … We didn’t move it and we can’t win that way….

“It had nothing to do with us missing shots,” Howard said. “They just played harder than us…It had nothing to do with the offensive game. They just played hard. We know what we [have to] do. It’s gotta be important for guys to come out and play the same way every night.”

Of course, in the most awkward of twists, it was Howard who indirectly was called out by Lakers teammates last season for his lack of effort, though in fairness Dwight was dealing with an injury at the time.

As a leader, Howard needs to step up and be vocal as he has been, though I’m not sure it’s needed after a two-game losing streak, when your team is 13-7 and dealing with a patched up roster thanks to injury.
