Filming has already begun on Fifty Shades of Grey, but the casting news still seems to be rolling in. The latest addition to the cast was announced today. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Dylan Neal, who plays Dr. Anthony Ivo on the hit CW series Arrow has been cast as Bob Adams, Anastasia’s stepfather.
Neal will work alongside Zero Dark Thirty actress Jennifer Ehle, who plays Anastasia’s well-meaning mother Carla.
He will be joining the ever growing cast of characters which is being led by Once Upon A Time actor Jamie Dornan and The Social Network’s Dakota Johnson who have been cast as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Over the course of the last month, at least four new additions have been made to the cast; three of those have been within the last week.
First, it was announced that How to Make it in America actor Victor Rasuk has been cast as José Rodriguez, Anastasia Steele’s lovable best male friend, and Christian Grey’s main competition for Anastasia’s affections.
This news was followed by the casting of Eloise Mumford as Anastasia Steele’s best friend and college roommate Kate Kavanagh. On the same day, it was announced that Pacific Rim actor Max Martini has been cast as Christian Grey’s bodyguard Jason Taylor.
Most recently, British pop sensation Rita Ora was cast as Christian Grey’s adoptive sister Mia Grey.
The film, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, is based on the book series of the same name by bestselling author E.L. James.
Fifty Shades of Grey is scheduled to be released on February 13, 2015.
