The Associated Press reports Lindsey Vonn continues to prepare for the 2014 Sochi Olympics after partially re-tearing a recontructed ligament in her right knee. To get ready, Vonn is scheduled for a “World cup downhill” race in Alberta, Canada tomorrow.
I don’t know much about skiing, but the Winter Olympics is awesome. Like any competition, I want to see the best athletes do what they do, so it is good news to hear Vonn is giving it a go.
Olympic athletes deserve mad respect because they train for one competition that comes around every four years. The public only sees their spectacular feats as they capture gold, silver, or bronze, but Olympic training is probably the toughest thing an athlete can do. In addition to an athlete’s training, they represent their country, which adds a level of passion unmatched in sports.
What sports do you like to watch the most during the Winter Olympics? Curling is always a favorite. Freestyle skiing is both crazy and mesmerizing. How about that Hockey doe? And, you can’t forget figure skating!
Good luck to all the athletes competing in Sochi.
