The recovery of Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari has been quite the roller coaster.
Initial estimates suggested Gallinari, who suffered a torn ACL in April could potentially be back in late December or early January. But Gallinari has yet to practice or even resume running, which has lead to speculation that he may end up missing the entire season.
For what it’s worth, the Italian sharpshooter recently came out and said that wouldn’t be the case, though the fact that he’s yet to even run is a bit alarming to his future status this season.
If there is any good news to be had, it’s that Gallo has been picking up the pace in recent weeks though ‘is still a long way from returning’:
The short answer to that is, who knows? I talked to Gallinari before Thanksgiving and, without giving any timetables, he said he’s a long way away from returning.
Now, he has been steadily doing more and more, but he hasn’t started running yet. When he does, then a clearer time-frame will fall into place. But don’t expect to see him until after the New Year.
