Pavel Datsyuk feeling "OK", could return for Detroit Red Wings soon

The Detroit Red Wings got a face full of what life without both Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk is like last night when they took a 6-3 beating at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers on national television. Luckily for the Wings, they should be getting one of the Euro Twins sooner rather than later.

According to Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News, Datsyuk is symptom free right now, but needs to take a bit of time to get his legs back under him after missing his fifth consecutive game on Wednesday night. He’s been on the shelf since taking a forearm shiver to the head from Jared Cowen of the Ottawa Senators on November 23.

There’s still no timetable for his exact return, and Datsyuk told Helene St. James of The Detroit Free Press that he “felt OK” but neded to “talk to doctor” before returning. At least he has a sense of humor about the ordeal though.

Datsyuk is unsure if he’ll travel with the Red Wings to New Jersey to take on the Devils at this juncture, but the sight of him out on the ice without setbacks is a welcome one for Detroit.
