‘American Horror Story’ Lance Reddick Joining the Cast of ‘Coven’

It would seem that we are about to see the emergence of a brand new character on American Horror Story: Coven; one that brings many dark secrets with him. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Lance Reddick, who is best known for his role as Phillip Broyles on the hit Fox series Fringe is joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven.

According to the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, he is will be taking up the role of Papa Legba. Papa Legba is expected to make his debut when the series returns from their winter break; which will begin after next week’s episode and go until January 8th.

Papa Legba is described as the shows version of “Voodoo Satan”. They say that he will have a rather large impact on the life of the Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. He will also play a significant role in the season’s remaining four episodes.

Show creator Ryan Murphy told EW about what Papa Legba’s involvement in the series.

You find out that’s how come Marie Laveau looks so good.” He says.

For the record, I purposely left out the second half of that statement in order to relieve you of the stress of unwanted spoilers, but trust me…it’s a biggie.

As the season has just passed the halfway point, you can bet that things are going to get tenser and tenser, if that is even possible, as we go forward. Don’t lose your head just yet. (See what I did there?) There is still one more episode before the Winter Break.

American Horror Story: Coven airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
