The Pittsburgh Penguins are still calling the Evgeni Malkin injury a day-to-day issue, but he won’t travel with the team to Boston or take on the Bruins it appears. “Geno” left practice early due to a lower-body injury yesterday and wasn’t available when Pittsburgh took on the San Jose Sharks last night.
The Penguins will look to take down another top-end foe in the Bruins sans Malkin on Saturday night.
Malkin not traveling to Boston. Dupuis is traveling. Both day-to-day. Ebbett broke ankle blocking shot. Orpik maintenance day #Pens

Incredibly, Pittsburgh had no issues beating the Sharks despite the fact that Malkin wasn’t playing and Pascal Dupuis left the contest in the second period due to injury. The team is also without two of its top four defensemen. Tanner Glass and Beau Bennett are on the shelf as well.
If the Penguins can continue to pile up the wins despite getting torn up by injuries, it might only be a matter of time before they make a movie out of it or something. It seems like every day the team released more injury news, only to crank out another win that night.
They’ll have their hands full with the Bruins on home ice though, and this is certainly an interesting game worth keeping an eye on.
