The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Miami Heat over the weekend, which is a game that Timberwolves forward Kevin Love would have loved to play in. Unfortunately, Love will be forced to miss the game due to a death in his family.

Love has not been with the team after learning that his grandmother passed away earlier this week, which will force him to miss Saturday’s big game.

From the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

After learning the news of Love’s loss, the Timberwolves released the following statement:

“The Timberwolves organization is deeply saddened to learn of the passing late last night of Carol Lee Craig, Kevin Love’s maternal grandmother. The Timberwolves send our condolences to the Love family in this difficult time.”

We would like to echo the comments from the Timberwolves organization and send out our thoughts and condolences to Kevin Love and his entire family.
