The breaks just haven’t been going the way of the New Jersey Devils and netminder Cory Schneider. It seems that whenever even the smallest most mundane thing can go wrong for the Devils goalie it does, but he was on the other side of the bad breaks for one save against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.

Schneider looks to not even see the puck coming at him when it was fired off a Red Wing stick, but he can thank his lucky jersey that the puck didn’t go into the net. By some stroke of utter and complete luck, the puck corralled the inside of Schneider’s jersey and dropped to the ice just before crossing the goal line.

The goal was saved by Schneider’s jersey and the video is something of a wonder to see. Unfortunately for Schneider’, his jersey can only bail him out so many times and the netminder eventually surrendered three goals that passed not only his jersey but everything else on and around Schneider’s body.

But at least he has a cool play to show his friends and to lighten the damp mood around New Jersey these days. As ProHockeyTalk points out, we’ll like hear a discussion now about the size of netminder jersey’s next season but thankfully for Schneider, the rules are in his favor still.
