With the Houston Texans struggling against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, head coach Gary Kubiak went to veteran Matt Schaub to provide a spark. Unfortunately, Schaub ended the game with an interception and big sack, as the Texans fell to Jacksonville.

On Friday, the team announced that Kubiak has been fired as head coach and they also made a decision on whether to roll with Schaub or Case Keenum as the Week 15 starter.

When the Texans take the field against the Indianapolis Colts, they will be starting Keenum.

It is a choice that the Texans have to make as they enter the final three games of the season, especially with the fact that they have a legitimate shot at holding the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

If the Texans want to make the best choice that they can, they will need to evaluate Keenum over the final few weeks to determine whether they want him back as the starter next season or if they will use their top pick on a player like Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville or Fresno State’s Derek Carr.

Unfortunately for Keenum, the Texans selecting a quarterback with the first pick is the most likely scenario.
