Two weeks ago, Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel had a pretty decent shot to thrust himself into a position to become the first player since Archie Griffin to take home two Heisman trophies. With Florida State’s Jameis Winston facing some potential legal issues, Manziel could maybe have locked that up with a solid performance against LSU in Death Valley.
Unfortunately for him, Manziel did not have the best performance of his career by any means, and everyone have pretty much written off his chances for that second Heisman.
Well, everyone has written off those chances except for his university.
Texas A&M recently released an extensive highlight reel of their most famous player in history, possibly hoping to launch one more Heisman campaign for their star before the award is given out next weekend.
While it’s very unlikely that Manziel will win the trophy, especially since Winston was not charged of any crimes, this is still a nice effort by the school to promote their star one last time.
With the potential, and likelihood, that Johnny Football will be off to the NFL after the team’s upcoming bowl game, this might be their last chance to do something for the young man that has brought them a lot of notoriety, be it good or bad.
