This years Los Angeles Lakers team looks a lot better than last years team that featured Dwight Howard.

From the games that I’ve watched, the new additions to this team have been working in their favor. Jordan Farmar has been playing like a Sixth Man of the Year candidate until he suffered a torn hamstring.

Former Philadelphia 76er is right behind him as he’s averaging 14.2 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field.

The Lakers currently sit at 9-9 early on in the year which is good enough for fourth place in the division. They’re coming off a tough home loss against the red hot Portland Trail Blazers who appear to be yet another obstacle this team will have to overtime if they reach the playoffs.

Today the Lakers will travel to Sacramento to take on the 4-12 Sacramento Kings as they’ll be looking to win their third straight road game with a short rotation.

But there is good news that I’m sure Lakers fans like myself have been waiting to hear. Kobe Bryant has a good chance at making his 2013 season debut against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Kobe had one of the best games if not the best games of his career against the Toronto Raptors when he put up 81 points against them back in 2006.

Playing time between Xavier Henry and Nick Young will be getting cut in half once Kobe returns.
