When Gus Malzahn came back to be the head coach of the Auburn Tigers for this season, we all knew that Tre Mason was going to be the main part of the fast-paced, Malzahn system. We may not have known how effective he was going to be, but we knew that for it to work he would need to be an elite rusher.

That’s exactly what he’s been this season in the Tigers’ amazing run through the SEC, and he’s saved his best performance for title time.

In the Georgia Dome in Atlanta against the Missouri Tigers, Mason already has 21 carries for an astonishing 189 yards. Yes, in the first half.

He was also the power behind Auburn’s latest scoring drive to put them up 28-20.

Auburn drove 79 yards in four plays, a drive in which Mason was the biggest part of once again:


That right there is the reason why Auburn has been able to complete the incredible turnaround that they have.
