Nick Saban says Auburn deserves to play for national title with win

Last weekend, the Alabama Crimson Tide watched their hopes of reaching a third-straight national title came to an end after a missed field that resulted in a last second touchdown return from Auburn Tigers cornerback Chris Davis.

Since Auburn’s big win over the Crimson Tide, people have been discussing whether or not the Tigers deserve to leapfrog the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes in the BCS standings for a chance at playing in the BCS Championship Game.

As far as Alabama head coach Nick Saban is concerned, his in-state rivals deserve that chance if they are able to come away from tonight’s SEC championship game with the big win over Missouri.

“If Auburn wins the SEC they deserve an opportunity to play for a national championship,” Saban said during an appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay.

Of course, Auburn getting the win will be no easy task, but it is certainly within reason.

It’s going to be a great day of college football action, so get ready to tune in to today’s big games to see how the national title picture will be playing out.

Why does the over-rated SEC need Nick Saban’s endorsement when it already has all-mighty media behemoth ESPN relentlessly shilling for its $2 billion baby? The favoritism shown the SEC by its adoring media hacks is downright embarrassing, especially given that the Greatest Conference Ever was barely over .500 in bowl games last year.
