Today, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, it’s that time of the year for Bedlam. The annual game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys is taking place, with some Big 12 Championship implications on the line for the Pokes. With a win today, they would clinch a share of the Big 12 title.
The Sooners, while out of the race, would love for nothing more than to dash those hopes, and they got off to a good start with that in the opening quarter.
After Oklahoma State took a 7-0 lead after a 99-yard TD drive, the Sooners needed to get back in the game, and quickly.
Jalen Saunders took care of that.
With about 30 seconds to go in the first quarter, Jalen Saunders fielded an Oklahoma State punt and weaved his way through the coverage team for a 64-yard punt return for touchdown, to tie the game up at seven:
If the Sooners want to ruin the Pokes’ chances of BCS glory, that’s certainly the way to do it, kill them with the special teams play.
