An exciting light heavyweight battle between Thiago Silva (16-3, 2 NC) and Ovince St. Preux (11-5) has been rebooked for March 15 at UFC 171 in Dallas, UFC officials announced on Saturday afternoon. The bout was originally scheduled for the UFC Fight Night 35 co-main event on Jan. 15 in Atlanta, but it was removed from the card shortly after the announcement.
Silva is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, while St. Preux has put together a three-fight streak of his own, so this bout will allow the winner to continue their climb up the 205-pound rankings.
Along with Silva vs. St. Preux, the UFC has announced that a middleweight match up between Bubba McDaniel (21-7) and Tor Troeng (16-5-1) will take place on the card.
There is no word on whether the bouts will take place on the main card or preliminary card, but it is safe to say that Silva vs. St. Preux will be part of the pay-per-view portion of the event.
With the new additions to UFC 171, here is a look at the updated fight card for the March 15 card:
- Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira for UFC light heavyweight title
- Ovince St. Preux vs. Thiago Silva
- Robert McDaniel vs. Tor Troeng
