According to University of Connecticut’s athletic director, Warde Manuel, the school will begin face-to-face interviews Sunday, in the hopes of finding a new head football coach.
From the Associated Press,
Manuel spoke before UConn’s season finale against Memphis. He says UConn is not a “Nick Saban situation,” but he doesn’t believe money will be an issue in the hiring.
Manuel says the job has attracted an impressive pool of candidates, though he declined to comment on who’s in the running.
Manuel would not say whether interim coach T.J. Weist, who took over after the firing of Paul Pasqualoni, would get an interview. However, he says he’s impressed by the job Weist has done. UConn came into Saturday having won its last two games after going 0-9.
Who do you think the Huskies will look to to coach the team next season? Will they stay with Weist, or move on to someone else?
