Detroit Lions don’t think Ziggy Ansah’s shoulder injury is serious

The Detroit Lions lost a snowy battle today against the Philadelphia Eagles and two add injury to insult, the Lions are dealing with some injuries to key players. We all heard about Reggie Bush slipping and re-injuring his leg but defensive end Ziggy Ansah also went down during the game and Lions fans are worried about his status.
Head coach Jim Schwartz spoke after the game about Ansah’s injury and while he didn’t get too deep into details about it, he did mention that he didn’t think the shoulder would be a long term problem.
“He hurt it during the game,” Schwartz said, via ESPN.com. “We’ll see. It doesn’t look like it’s long term, but we’ll have to see.”
Schwartz didn’t even elaborate as to what his definition of ‘long term’ is as this could be a few weeks or over the course of the offseason. Ansah has been a great rookie addition to the Lions defense and now that they’re back in a battle with the Packers for control of the NFC North, they’ll need all the help they can get.
In addition to Ansah being banged up, the Lions are dealing with an injury to fellow rookie Darius Slay who was diagnosed with a torn meniscus earlier this weekend.
