Early point spread projection released for Florida State vs. Auburn BCS Championship Game match-up

It has only been a few moments since Ohio State slipped and fell against Michigan State in the Big 10 Championship Game, but with that loss, the BCS projection of Florida State vs. Auburn in the championship game looks to be coming to fruition. With that, there is an early report of a projected point spread for the game, and it’s a very interesting one.

ESPN’s Brett McMurphy reports that the Las Vegas Hilton (the largest sportsbook in the world) has Florida State as an early 7-point favorite if the FSU-Auburn match-up actually occurs. The fact that Florida State would be favored seems to be a mortal lock given their undefeated (and untested) run to the game, but Auburn’s current hot streak has apparently moved them to the point of being just a touchdown underdog in the game.

It’s important to note that the FSU-Auburn game is not officially set until the final BCS standings emerge, but all signs indicate to these two teams facing off in Pasadena. There will be a lot of discussion in the coming days about point spreads, match-ups, etc., but early leanings are in favor of the Seminoles.
