Florida Atlantic left out of Conference USA bowl lineup despite being eligible

The Florida Atlantic Owls haven’t had the easiest season of anyone in all of college football. This is mainly due to the fact that their head coach, Carl Pelini, was unceremoniously removed from his position following some allegations that he took part in some recreational drug use while the team was on a bye week.

Still, through all of that, the Owls were able to finish the season 6-6, which rightfully makes them bowl eligible. Something like that could be seen as the bright light at the end of a very dark tunnel that was the Owls’ 2013 season off the field.

Unfortunately, though, Florida Atlantic won’t get a chance to see that light as they have apparently been left off the list of Conference USA teams that will be going bowling this holiday season:

Unfortunately, this will happen during this time of year. Six wins doesn’t guarantee you a bowl spot anymore.
