Once the announcement was made last Thursday that the Florida State Attorney would not bring charges against Florida State Seminoles redshirt freshman QB Jameis Winston on a claim of alleged sexual assault, the Heisman Trophy picture for 2013 became a lot clearer.
Winston, for most of the season, has been the overwhelming favorite for the award, due to him having one of the greatest debut seasons in the history of college football.
In addition to leading the Seminoles to an appearance in the National Championship Game in Pasadena, Winston has thrown for 3820 yards, 38 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions.
Realistically, there hasn’t been a player in the country that has come close to challenging what the Alabama native has done this season.
Las Vegas agrees.
According to Sportsbook.com, with less than one week to go until the trophy is handed out next Saturday, Winston in a 1/150 favorite to take home the coveted piece of bronze hardware.
Everyone else? Well, the odds on them winning are 50/1.
Vegas has pretty much stated, loud and clear, that the trophy should be headed to Tallahassee in Winston’s possession.
