Outfielder Sam Fuld was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in a package that sent right handed starter Matt Garza a couple seasons ago and the fans have loved him ever since.

Fuld isn’t known for his power, but he’s a small 32 year old lefty who has a lot of speed and heart. After failing to stick with the Chicago Cubs outfielding corps. he became a valuable trade piece for anybody interested.

Sam received the most playing time in his career when he was dealt to the Rays. Fuld even hit four more home runs than he did with Chicago. Now that the Rays have David DeJesus back, they really don’t need Fuld.

The team decided to non-tender him which made him a free agent. Now that he’s a free agent, he’s receiving some interest from not only teams in the Major Leagues, but teams in Japan as well.

I think he skips out on the Majors next season and heads to Japan for a brand new experience.
