Sugar Bowl 2014: Alabama vs. Oklahoma

The 2014 Sugar Bowl will take place on Jan. 2 and will kickoff at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN. As usual, the game will emanate from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Last year’s match up we were introduced to the Louisville Cardinals and Teddy Bridgewater as they shocked the Florida Gators of the SEC.

This year, the Sugar Bowl will have a more traditional flare as the Alabama Crimson Tide will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Oklahoma made this trip possible by defeating the rival Oklahoma State Cowboys and finishing their season at 10-2.

Alabama was hoping to finish this season with their third straight national title, but those hopes were dashed when they were defeated by Auburn in the Iron Bowl a little over a week ago.

Something will have to give when these two traditional powers meet up in New Orleans after the new year.
