Minnesota Twins to meet with Bronson Arroyo’s agent

The pitching hungry Minnesota Twins may have already netted Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely done revamping their rotation.

According to Darren Wolfson, the Twins are expected to meet with the agent of pitcher Bronson Arroyo this afternoon, who has been one of the most in-demand players on the market.

I’m told the #MNTwins will meet with Arroyo’s agent this afternoon.

Arroyo, despite his age, 37, is one of the more stable pitchers in the game and considering he wasn’t given a one-year qualifying offer by the Cincinnati Reds, he won’t require teams to forfeit a draft pick like so many other ‘top’ available starters.

The Twins are far from the only team interested or even scheduled to meet with Arroyo and/or his representatives, though they seem determined to re-tool their rotation and have spent considerable amounts to do so.

Arroyo would give the Twins a relatively deep (though not exactly overpowering) top three, assuming he was to sign.
