The Pittsburgh Pirates lost Garret Jones to the Miami Marlins today after Jones signed a two-year deal in South Beach.
But Pittsburgh may be replacing Jones with the Marlins assistance as it’s being reported Pittsburgh has interest in trading for Miami outfielder/first baseman, Logan Morrison.
Morrison, who’s more known for his antics than on-field play has seemingly worn out his welcome in Florida, but still possesses raw talent at a young age which is intriguing to many teams. What price he’ll command is unknown, which is why the Pirates are keeping their options open, including a trade for Adam Lind of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Lind had a resurgence for the Blue Jays last season, clubbing 23 home runs in just 465 at-bat’s, this after coming off vastly disappointing seasons in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Neither Morrison nor Lind are a sure thing, but each does come with intriguing potential.
