MLB rumors: Rival GM says White Sox not shopping Chris Sale

If the Chicago White Sox are attempting to trade ace Chris Sale, it’s news to a rival GM who recently told ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick that Chris Sale is not being shopped:

I asked a GM who is in the market for pitching about Chris Sale. “He’s not out there,” the GM said. #whitesox

The Sale rumors were a little odd, though, it’s possible the White Sox could have leaked his name out there just to see what type of returns they’d get.

Granted, they’d be looking at some form of a blockbuster, but there’s no harm in asking. That said, gauging interest in a player isn’t an attempt to trade them and it’s extremely likely the only way Sale would find himself leaving the White Sox would be in a mega deal.

Add in the fact that Sale is under team control through the 2019 season and the deal is very team friendly, there just isn’t any reason for the White Sox to part with their ace barring an unbelievable offer.
