MLB rumors: Seattle Mariners GM expects Taijuan Walker to remain with team

After signing Robinson Cano, many expected the Seattle Mariners to use their highly touted prospects to bring in MLB-ready talent. And while they still may attempt to do so, general manager Jack Zduriencik says he expects Taijuan Walker will remain with the Seattle organization – a sentiment that will likely cause many in the Northwest to have a sigh of relief:

The ‘package’ is that of David Price, the Tampa Bay Rays ace who is seemingly in a different trade rumor every hour.

Seattle has a handful of talented prospects, especially pitchers who could find themselves on the move if the Mariners are to improve their MLB roster, though it doesn’t appear as if Walker will be used as bait.

Walker is among the elite pitching prospects in the game and would be the likely centerpiece in any big name deal, if he was to be moved.
