The New Orleans Pelicans had feared that they may be without star point guard Tyreke Evans for significant time after he awkwardly injured his ankle by coming down on the foot of Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant, but the team received some good news.

From negative x-rays to positive MRI results, the team learned that Evans has avoided serious injury and he is only suffering from a sprained ankle.

Evans is expected to miss one week with the sprained ankle, but barring any setbacks he will not miss a lengthy amount of time which is crucial to the Pelicans moving forward.

This season, Evans is averaging 11.8 points a game on 40.9 percent shooting, so the team will be looking forward to having him back in the line up.
