UFC fighter rankings: Mark Hunt cracks heavyweight top 10

Following an epic performance at UFC Fight Night 33 against No. 4 heavyweight Antonio Silva, the previously unranked Mark Hunt has been rewarded by leaping in to the latest edition of the official UFC fighter rankings.

Hunt leaps up to No. 9, where he sits behind former champion Frank Mir and ahead of promising heavyweight prospect Stipe Miocic.

With his move in to the top ten, former TUF champion Roy “Big Country” Nelson was knocked out of the top ten standings. Nelson had been a mainstay in the top ten, but a three-fight losing streak and the impressive performance from Hunt is all it took to warrant the change.

Here is a look at the updated UFC heavyweight rankings:

Champion: Cain Velasquez

1  Junior Dos Santos

2  Fabricio Werdum

3  Daniel Cormier

4  Antonio Silva

5  Josh Barnett +1

6  Travis Browne -1

7  Alistair Overeem

8  Frank Mir

9  Mark Hunt *NR

10  Stipe Miocic -1
