Boise State at No. 11 Kentucky, game preview

The Boise State Broncos travel to Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 9 pm ET.  The game will be aired on ESPN following the conclusion of the Kansas-Florida game.

Boise State is undefeated at 8-0, and is the number one scoring team in the country averaging 91.9 points per game.  The Broncos high powered offense is led by junior forward Anthony Drmic, who is averaging 20.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest.  Junior guard Derrick Marks is averaging 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.  Drmic and Marks lead a starting five with every player averaging double digits.  That’s a lot of firepower, but Boise State has not faced a team as long and athletic as Kentucky this year.

Kentucky is loaded with players who alter shots, and grab rebounds away from opponents.  All-Star freshman Julius Randle is leading the team in both points (17.9 ppg) and rebounds (12.1 rpg).  Randle also creates opportunities for his teammates averaging 2.3 assists per contest.  Kentucky has a terrific twin brother duo in Aaron Harrison (13.9 ppg) and Andrew Harrison (10.0 ppg, 3.7 assists per game).  And then, if you were unsure about anything, Wildcat sophomore Willie Cauley-Stein is a seven-footer grabbing 7.8 rebounds per game.

Kentucky is a tough team, but Boise State has the firepower to make this one interesting.  It all depends who is hungrier, and don’t be surprised if it is Boise State, who will be looking to crack the AP Top 25 with a win.
