DeMarcus Cousins has monster night, Kings win

The Sacramento Kings beat the Dallas Mavericks 112-97 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.  The Kings improved to 6-13, and the Mavericks fell to 13-9.

The star players on the Mavericks played well.  Monta Ellis scored 21 points and had five assists.  Dirk Nowitzki netted 18 points along with six rebounds and seven assists.  However, the star (or, soon to be star) players on Sacramento had tremendous performances, forcing everyone to rethink where the Kings may go this year.

DeMarcus Cousins was an absolute beast scoring 32 points and grabbing 19 rebounds.  He also had nine turnovers, but who cares!  Newly acquired Derrick Williams (who is an insane athlete) scored 31 points along with five rebounds and five steals.  Isaiah Thomas scored 24 points and dished out 12 assists with only two turnovers.

A couple things about the Kings:  First, they are the most exciting six-win team to watch in the NBA.  I was surprised by tonight’s performance, but there is tremendous potential on the court in Sac town. Second, Rudy Gay did not play tonight, and he brings 19.4 ppg and 7.4 rpg to the team.  Stay tuned for what happens next!

Next game: Sacramento plays Utah at 10 pm ET on Wednesday.  Dallas plays at Golden State on Wednesday at 10:30 pm ET on ESPN.
