MLB rumors: Cincinnati Reds met with Bronson Arroyo's agent

Few players have drawn more interest on the free agent market than that of Bronson Arroyo.

Why so much interest for an aging pitcher, you ask? Well, outside of the fact that Arroyo is relatively talented and is considered to be one of the more dependable arms in baseball, the fact he wasn’t given a qualifying offer by the Cincinnati Reds meant teams wouldn’t need to forfeit a draft pick to sign him.

But Arroyo may have overestimated his worth as teams in need of starting pitching opted to make other moves to fill their holes, leaving Arroyo without a team.

That’s not to say there still isn’t a strong interest in Arroyo, but many of his former options are null and void – something that may have lead to the pitcher’s agent meeting with the Cincinnati Reds:

#reds did meet with Arroyo’s agent today, Jocketty said. More to come soon

What the meeting meant exactly isn’t known, though, Arroyo’s agent could have been discussing a potential reunion.

Sounds like we’ll have an answer in the relatively near future.
