MLB rumors: Padres, Yankees, Mets interested in Mariners' Dustin Ackley

With Robinson Cano now entrenched as the Seattle Mariners second baseman for the next decade, the team has to decide what to do with Dustin Ackley.

The former top prospect struggled with the Mariners this season, though seemingly turned things around in the second half. The improved play intrigued a handful of teams, like the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees and New York Mets who have all inquired about the young talent:

#yankees#mets#padres have inquired on dustin ackley. #mariners

The Mariners are in a bit of a bind in regards to Ackley, considering he is a former top prospect but one who hasn’t exactly lived up to his potential. They’d be selling low on his name, but selling high on his second half of the season.

It’s possible the team could attempt to swing him to the other side of the infield or keep him in the outfield (where he played fifty games), though, it may make more sense to fill a weakness, assuming the Mariners front office could snag something of value in a trade.
