Veteran outfielder Rajai Davis has found himself a new home, this time in Motown as the Detroit Tigers signed the speedy Davis to a two-year contract.

There’s still a bit of speculation as to the final number on the deal, though, it’s reportedly worth between $9 and $10 million dollars:

It’s a pretty solid deal for Davis who only made $2.5 million with the Toronto Blue Jays this past season and did so spending a large chunk of his time on the bench.

Where Davis’ playing time will come from is currently unknown, though, the most likely scenario right now suggests he’d split time with Andy Dirks in left field. More than that though, the addition of Davis (who should burn up the basepaths) all but takes the Tigers out of the running for Shin-Soo Choo who they reportedly had strong interest in. However, Choo’s elevated asking price likely became too much and Davis became the more affordable option.
