Samsung is putting together a team of the 11 best players in the world on a team called the “GALAXY 11″ to take on a threatening alien race. They’re announcing the team week by week. Their latest addition to the team is Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Landon Donovan.
Donovan joins a team of Lionel Messi (Argentina), Wayne Rooney (England), Mario Gotze (Germany), Oscar dos Santos (Brazil), Wu Lei (China), Stephan El Shaarawy (Italy), Victor Moses (Nigeria), Radamel Falcao (Colombia), Lee Chung-Yong (Korea) and Iker Casillas (Spain).
“It’s a great honor to be selected for the team alongside some of the world’s greatest football players,” Rooney said. “Hopefully I’ll be able to bring my qualities and English spirit to the team and 2014 is going to be a huge year for me with club, country and now the Galaxy 11, so keep watching.”
This all-star team will attempt to save the planet from alien domination in a “winner takes all” match on a virtual field. On December 18, Samsung will provide additional details and insights into the full story of how each player was recruited to join the Galaxy 11 team.
