Washington Wizards power forward Al Harrington has been out of action since November 12 thanks to nagging knee injuries that have been plaguing him since last season, and now it looks like he will be out for at least another month.
The team announced on Monday that Harrington underwent a diagnostic arthroscopy and lavage procedure by Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colorado. The procedure was to clean out loose particles in his right knee and he will not be reevaluated for another four weeks.
The Wizards signed Harrington in the offseason with hopes that he would be able to provide some help off of the bench, but his play has been limited with the injuries as the Wizards worked their way to a 9-11 record to start the season.
This season, Harrington has averaged 7.9 points and 1.4 rebounds 18.6 minutes over seven games.
