The Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Boise State Broncos 70-55 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. The Wildcats improved to 8-2, and the Broncos fell to 8-1.
Kentucky held the number one scoring team in the country to 55 points. The Broncos were averaging 91.9 points per game coming into tonight’s contest, and shot only 31.9% from the field against the Wildcats. I’m sure Coach Cal is extremely happy with the intensity his team displayed on defense.
Kentucky shot 52.9% from the field, and worked up a 43-27 rebounding advantage. Despite being dominant on offense and defense, the Wildcats had 19 turnovers to the Broncos’ eight. Kentucky did not take care of the ball, and will look to be less careless in future contests.
Wildcats top performers: Guard James Young scored 21 points, grabbed nine boards, and had five turnovers. Forward Julius Randle had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four turnovers. Brother duo Aaron and Andrew Harrison both scored 13 points, with Aaron adding five steals. Forward Willie Cauley-Stein had a remarkable nine blocks along with six points and seven rebounds.
