LeBron James: ‘We’re not the team we want to be in April right now’
By Ryan Donoho
The Indiana Pacers are taking the regular season more serious than anyone else in the league. As for the Heat? Not so much.
Whether they downplayed it or not, the Heat wanted to win the game against Indiana to show that they are the best team in the league. They came out and controlled the game, but the Pacers locked down on defense, and they ultimately won, 90-84. LeBron James talked about how their defense was good after the game, via ESPN:
"“Their defense is No. 1 in the league,” James said of the Pacers. “They make you do things, at times, you don’t want to do and [force you] into shots you don’t want to take. I had some really good looks at the rim that didn’t go down that I’m capable of making.”"
The Heat are the best at moving on after a game, so don’t expect them to let the loss effect them moving forward. It was promising for the Pacers to beat the Heat, and that means we could be heading for a nasty rivalry.
LeBron James and the Heat are focused on the postseason, and they know they have some work to do:
"“It’s [been] a tough week for us,” James said. “I think we’re all excited to get back to Miami, to get back home for the next two weeks. We’ll get better. We’ll look at the film and we’ll move on to the next game. You don’t hold your head low long on one loss, especially as a veteran ballclub. We’re not the team we want to be in April right now, and that’s OK. That’s exactly what we want. We want to continue to get better every month.”"
The Pacers won round 1, and I can’t wait for them to continue this series.
